An Update from Pruneyard Cinemas: October 16
Santa Clara County entered the State of California’s Orange Tier (tier 3) this week. Sadly, Pruneyard Cinemas, as well as the remaining cinemas in Santa Clara County, will remain closed for the time being.
Santa Clara County is following State guidelines that prohibit the consumption of any food or beverages inside theater auditoriums and limit seating capacity to 25%. In addition, major studios have postponed the release of all significant new films until next year. As a result, it is impossible for us to provide the service and experience our guests deserve and are accustomed to when they purchase a ticket to watch a movie at Pruneyard Cinemas.
Under these circumstances, the result is the functional equivalent of a mandated closure. We have therefore decided to keep the theaters dark until the situation improves which we hope will be soon. We are grateful to Santa Clara County officials for doing all they can to address their business constituent’s needs while protecting the health and welfare of the people who live and work in our community.
Until the time is right to show movies again, please visit our restaurant Cedar Room, open for full-service dining on the patio and at limited capacity indoors. We appreciate your patience and support.
