HEADLINER: DARREN CARTER Darren Carter, known as "The Party Starter," is an American stand-up comedian, actor, and impressionist born and raised in Fresno, California. Adopted into a foster family as a child of a Baptist minister, Carter grew up in a racially diverse blue-collar neighborhood with Caucasian parents and sisters of Native American and Latina heritage, which influenced his unique, relatable humor blending observational wit, physical comedy, and rapid-fire impressions. He began his career in the 1990s with open-mic nights in Los Angeles, quickly rising to fame with appearances on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Comedy Central's Premium Blend, BET's Comic View, Comics Unleashed, and Showtime.
